Bella Palm

One of the most popular houseplants is the Bella Palm (Chamaedorea elegant). It originates from Southern Mexico and Guatemala. Outdoors it can grow as tall as 10 feet while the maximum growth indoors in 4-6 feet. It is one of the easiest palms to care for tolerating low light and low humidity.

AKA: Neanthe Palm, Neanthe Bella Palm, Parlour Palm

Lighting: Low light tolerant; prefers medium to some bright indirect light. Too much light will turn the bright green leaves yellow.

Watering: Water when the top of the soil or 1 inch down is dry. Water slowly and evenly; discard excess. Prefers moist not soggy soil.

Humidity: Does well in low humidity but prefers high humidity. Bella palms are great for terrariums.

Toxicity: Non-toxic

Potting Mix: Rich and well draining.

Additional Care: This is a slow growing plant and won’t need to be repotted often. It also enjoys a daily morning mist.
