Fluffy Ruffles Fern

The Fluffy Ruffles Fern (Nephrolepsis exaltation ‘Fluffy Ruffles’) is a variety of the Boston Fern. It is recognized by and named for its soft ruffled fronds that grow in a dense clump. This fern can reach a height of 1-2 feet tall and wide. It is a beautiful plant but does require extra care in drier climates.

AKA: Ruffle Fern

Light: Low to bright indirect light; avoid direct light. East or North window.

Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Never allow the soil to dry out. Allow the top 1-2 inches to dry out before watering. Water slowly and evenly until water drains out of the bottom; discard excess.

Humidity: Medium to high humidity. Supplement humidity with a pebble tray, humidifier, place in a terrarium or keep in a kitchen or bathroom.

Toxicity: Non-toxic to cats, dogs and humans.

Potting Mix: Fast draining all purpose mix.

Additional Care: Brown crisp fronds are a sign of low humidity or not watering often enough. Keep away from drafts. Prune to maintain size and shape.
