Hoya Kerrii

The Sweetheart Hoya (Hoya kerrii) is native to Southeast Asia. It has green heart shaped succulent-like leaves and is a vining/climbing plant. In perfect conditions it can climb up to 13 feet. Indoors however it will only reach about 6 feet. The blooms are small star-shaped flowers that grow in a cluster off of a peduncle. It is a slow grower and easy to care for.

Light: low light tolerant but prefers medium to bright indirect light. Some direct morning light is acceptable.

Water: allow the soil to dry out nearly completely (at least the top half of the soil) before watering. Water slowly and evenly; discard excess to avoid root rot.

Humidity: average home humidity

Toxicity: non-toxic to cats, dogs and humans

Potting Mix: well draining mix

Additional Care: prefers to be root bound. It is very sensitive to wet roots so never allow them to sit in water for long periods of time. Wrinkly leaves indicate that the plant needs water.
